The Department of Surgery is proud to announce the formation (as of the fall of 2006, a quarter-century after his death) of the Owen H. Wangensteen Surgical Society. This society is a great way for members, particularly University of Minnesota surgical alumni, to keep in touch with the department and their colleagues, both professionally and personally. The first meeting was held in conjunction with the University of Minnesota reception at the American College of Surgeons meeting on October 9, 2007, in New Orleans.
