Wangensteen Award for Excellence in Teaching


Each spring, the Department of Surgery residents select their "Faculty Teacher of the Year" from among the many surgeons they interact with on rotations at various Twin Cities hospitals. This award was established in memory of Dr. Owen H. Wangensteen (1898-1987), who chaired the Department of Surgery from 1930 to 1967.
