Policy

Research Policies The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) provides information about policies relevant to the fields of research, scholarship, and artistic activity at the University of Minnesota.
Intellectual Property Provides a "full-service" compendium of resources on intellectual property topics, University policies, and an online workshop.
Conflict of Interest Highlights federal, state, and University policies, provides an overview of disclosure procedures and benefits, and demonstrates the development of plans to manage potential conflicts of interest.

Compliance

OVPR The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) is responsible for oversight of its research and other sponsored activities, to ensure that faculty and staff are in compliance with University, sponsor, and state and federal regulations.
OAR Oversight, Analysis, and Reporting (OAR) promotes compliance awareness in sponsored projects management within the University through assistance, education, and communication.
Guide to Research Compliance The Guide to Research Compliance was designed and is maintained by OAR to help researchers and their staff anticipate and manage compliance issues that arise during a research project.
Compliance News Compliance News is a recurring compliance communication for the University research community.

Training

FIRST Fostering Integrity in Research, Service, and Teaching (FIRST) provides training for Investigators including Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) required initial training and continuing education.
IRB The University of Minnesota requires a basic level of Human Subjects' Protection Training for all investigators and research personnel conducting researching involving human subjects, regardless of the source of funding.
IACUC In accordance with federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies, all personnel at the University conducting research involving animals must complete IACUC training.
Fairview Fairview-employed Investigators, unaffiliated Investigators and key personnel conducting research with Fairview patients, records, specimens, systems & resources who are involved with recruiting, consenting or data collection/abstraction must complete the required Investigator Education training. Training needs to be completed once every three years.
