80th Principles in Colon & Rectal Surgery: Hot Topics

November 2-3, 2018
McNamara Alumni Center, University of Minnesota
Minneapolis, MN

This course will focus on controversial benign and malignant topics in colon and rectal surgery. Lectures and discussions will focus on surgical tips aimed at addressing challenging decisions and surgical situations. Sessions will also cover changing paradigms in a variety of areas such as anorectal diseases, pelvic floor disorders, colorectal cancer and benign colorectal disease, including inflammatory bowel disease. A major component of this course will be the opportunity to interact with faculty who use different protocols and have opposing points of view. These will be explored in the case-based debates throughout the course, aimed at provoking honest and informative discussions. Keynote speakers include Scott Steele, MD (Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio) and Karim Alavi, MD (UMass, Worcester, MA). New this year, each day will begin with an interactive “meet the professor” breakfast, which will allow attendees to discuss specific topics in an informal setting.
